Senior Audio Engineer

Project Overview
We are supporting a Czech startup pioneering AI-powered humanoid technology in the hospitality sector, in hiring a Senior Audio Processing Engineer. The company is developing the world’s first AI robotic receptionist for hotels, and this role will be critical in designing the voice layer of that experience—from speech recognition to synthesis.

You’ll work on real-world applications of cutting-edge audio tech, helping to shape how humans communicate naturally with autonomous machines in dynamic, multilingual environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems
  • Build and optimize machine learning pipelines for real-time voice processing
  • Collaborate with engineering and research teams to integrate audio models into production environments
  • Curate datasets for model training, testing, and evaluation across diverse languages and acoustic settings
  • Ensure scalability, precision, and resilience of voice-related features
  • Stay on top of the latest developments in neural audio processing and evaluate integration opportunities

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of audio signal processing and machine learning for speech applications
  • Hands-on experience with STT and TTS systems, voice synthesis, and speech recognition
  • Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with relevant audio libraries
  • Experience working with neural networks for audio and real-time audio processing
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques for low-latency, production-ready voice features

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) for audio infrastructure
  • Knowledge of multilingual speech processing, acoustic modeling, and data augmentation
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Experience in voice biometrics or speaker recognition is a plus

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Freelance (IČO)
Location: Prague / hybrid (at least 1 day per week onsite)
Duration: Long-term collaboration
Working Language: English (team is international)
Compensation: Competitive freelance rate, based on seniority and expertise

What’s in it for you

  • Key role in building voice-first human-robot interaction
