Our client is delivering a global SAP S/4HANA ERP transformation, focused on harmonizing and standardizing processes across regions using a unified, best-practice-driven approach.
To support this initiative, they are looking for a SAP S/4 Development Coordinator to oversee and coordinate a development team of approximately 7–10 ABAP and HANA developers. This role combines strong technical understanding of S/4 development with coordination, planning, and delivery oversight.
This is not a people management role and does not require hands-on development. The focus is on task coordination, estimation, sprint planning, and delivery control.
Working Model & Travel
- Mostly remote
- Initial 4-day on-site onboarding after approx. 2 weeks
- Around 3 additional on-site workshop trips during the project (4 days each)
- Primary on-site location: Barcelona
- Possible later workshops in Frankfurt
Your Responsibilities
- Coordinate a team of ABAP and SAP HANA developers across S/4 rollout activities
- Plan development tasks, estimate complexity, and manage workload allocation
- Drive sprint planning, participate in daily scrums, and ensure smooth delivery flow
- Track progress and produce sprint and activity reports using project tools
- Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and stream leads
- Review functional specifications from a technical and architectural perspective
- Ensure proper ABAP testing (performance, quality, robustness, stability, security)
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) for complex development, integration, or basis issues
- Perform periodic quality assurance, including code quality checks and process adherence
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong coordination and administrative skills (PMO-style capability)
- Senior-level ABAP experience, including hands-on development in SAP S/4HANA
- Ability to understand development pipelines and guide teams without coding daily
- Strong experience with JIRA (primary management tool) and Excel
- Solid understanding of SAP development lifecycle, testing, and quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with global stakeholders
- Willingness to travel occasionally for onboarding and workshop sessions
