About job

We are looking for an experienced SAS Developer to join the Automated Business Solutions team and develop and maintain data processing and automation solutions that support business processes across the organisation.

The primary focus of this role is data processing and automation, using SAS to transform large volumes of data, automate workflows, and deliver reliable outputs for internal processes. This is not a Data Science, Business Intelligence, dashboard development, or statistical modelling role.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance scheduled SAS solutions for processing and transforming large volumes of data.
  • Generate automated reports and data outputs in Microsoft Excel for internal business processes.
  • Integrate SAS solutions with other services and systems.
  • Migrate and modernise existing solutions, for example from VBA or Power Query to SAS.
  • Work with job scheduling and workflow automation.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to improve development efficiency and code quality.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders during testing and delivery.
  • Gather requirements, analyse existing processes, and contribute to solution design.
  • Document solutions and contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Skills required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAS development.
  • Strong experience with SAS programming, scripting, and SAS macros.
  • Experience with job scheduling and workflow automation.
  • Experience processing and transforming large volumes of data.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data processing technologies.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ability to develop solutions within strict policies, standards, and technical constraints.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.
  • Proactive and self-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Fluent English, minimum B2 level.
  • Nice to have:

    • Understanding of Python standards and best practices.
    • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot.
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including SAFe.
    • Background in finance, banking, or insurance.

    What can you expect?

  • A role focused on data automation and data processing within a regulated enterprise environment.
  • Opportunity to work on scalable and efficient SAS-based automation solutions.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams throughout testing and delivery.
  • Full-time engagement of 40 hours per week.
